Federer wins Australian Open

30 January, 2007

Roger Federer claimed his 10th Grand Slam title with a straight sets win over Fernando Gonzalez in Sunday's 2007 Australian Open final.

Federer beat Gonzalez 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 to become the first player since Bjorn Borg to win a Grand Slam title without dropping a set. Borg achieved the feat 27 years ago in claiming the French Open Crown.

Federer improved to 10-0 against Gonzales who had two set points in the opening set before being swept aside by the World Number 1.
