Roger Federer claimed his 10th Grand Slam title with a straight sets win over Fernando Gonzalez in Sunday's 2007 Australian Open final. Federer beat Gonzalez 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 to become the first player since Bjorn Borg to win a Grand Slam title without dropping a set. Borg achieved the feat 27 years ago in claiming the French Open Crown. Federer improved to 10-0 against Gonzales who had two set points in the opening set before being swept aside by the World Number 1. Serena Williams completed a remarkable comeback to Tennis with a comprehensive victory over Maria Sharapova in the Women’s Final at the Australian Open A former two-time winner of the Australian Open, Williams claimed her eighth Grand Slam title with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over a stunned Sharapova. Williams became only the second unseeded Australian Open champion and first since Chris O’Neil won the title in 1978. Head to Head Tennis betting on the Australian Open Women’s final has Maria Sharapova a $1.39 favourite with IASbet against Serena Williams $2.95. The Russian glamour girl has been the favourite in betting to claim her first Australian Open Womens title since the tournament got underway at Flinders Park. World Number 1 Roger Federer demolished American Andy Roddick in straight sets 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 to reach the final of the Australian Open in Melbourne. Federer was at his awesome best after falling behind 4-3 in the opening set. He then went on to win 15 of the next 17 games to book his second straight final appearance at on Rod Laver Arena. Federer told Jim Courier afterwards, "I was really worried going into this match, he had been playing so well. I played incredibly well," "I had one of those days where everything worked. It's just unreal, I'm shocked myself, I don't know what to say." It was the ninth consecutive win over the sixth seeded Roddick with Federer now poised to claim his 10t Grand Slam title in Sunday’s final against either 10th seeded Fernando Gonzalez of Chile or the No. 12 seed Tommy Haas from Germany.
