Red Sox win streak ends at twelve

The Florida Marlins beat the Boston Red Sox 4-2 to draw the curtain on a 12 game winning streak that saw the Red Sox open up a four game break over the New York Yankees at the top of the AL East standings.
The Marlins beat the Red Sox 5-2 Friday night to make it 14 wins from their last 18.
The win say Florida move into second place in the NL East, a half-game ahead of the Phillies after Philadelphia lost 8-1 on the road to Toronto.
The Marlins got off to a perfect start with Mike Jacobs hitting a double to bring home Hanley Ramirez for the first run in the first inning. Angel Cabrera followed with an RBI groundout and Jeremy Hermida's run-scoring single to right made it 3-0.
It was soon 5-0 for the Marlins with Boston not scoring until the sixth inning.
